The Return of Artistry
AURA™ by Motorola is a timeless, classically designed device that delivers a sensory experience that is second-to-none for those with refined taste. Combining an exquisite interface with superb craftsmanship inspired by high-end watches, AURA breaks convention and re-establishes artistry in the design and manufacturing of mobile devices. From the moment an AURA owner picks up his or her device they embark on a journey of discovery.

An Exquisitely Performing Device, Designed to the Highest Standards
Drawing on inspiration, materials and techniques from luxury jewelers, AURA begins with the world's first 16 million color, circular display with more colors and sharper resolution than has ever been seen on a Motorola phone. The product's richness can literally be felt, from the weight of its stainless steel housing and the textures and patterns chemically-etched into its surface, to its Grade 1, 62-carat sapphire crystal lens, one of the most scratch-resistant materials on earth.

Turning AURA over reveals a window into its mechanical heart-gears composed of Rockwell 50-55 hardened steel and 130 precision ball bearings-working in tandem to drive the phone's assisted-opening blade. The effect is more like opening the door on a luxury car versus accessing a mobile phone. From its Swiss-made main bearing to the custom-engineered rotating mechanism composed of over 200 high precision individual parts, AURA was built to surpass Motorola's reliability requirements. The gears are protected from harsh conditions with the same coatings used in high-performance racing engines.

Samsung Galaxy S i9000

Samsung Galaxy S i9000

The i9000 Galaxy S sports a Super AMOLED touchscreen display (as debuted in the upcoming Samsung Wave) but ups the dimensions to a whopping 4.0 inches. For those unfamiliar with the new Super AMOLED technology Samsung have pioneered, it’s basically an advancement that is thinner than traditional AMOLED units allowing for the display to be closer to the surface which aids in the visual quality and responsiveness of the touchscreen. In short, it looks and feels fantastic.

Not content with adding a best in class display, Samsung have also thrown in the very latest version of Android, version 2.1 (or Eclair), and a speedy 1GHz processor to ensure everything runs smoothly. In keeping with the Google Nexus One, the Galaxy S boasts 7 customisable home screens that can be populated with all sorts of widgets, shortcuts and web feeds whilst four ever present icons sit at the bottom of the screen providing easy access to the most frequently used areas of the phone.

In addition to a stunning display and superb operating system, the Galaxy S also boasts a slew of multimedia options and a top notch camera. The Galaxy S includes 16GB of internal storage plus a memory card slot supporting up to a 32GB memory card, a 3.5mm audio jack, MP3 music player and DivX support. Additionally, the i9000 Galaxy S includes a 5.0 Megapixel camera with a whole host of extras such as face and smile detection plus the feature of the moment; 720p HD video capture! Throw in GPS, HSDPA and Wi-Fi and it’s clear that Samsung are gunning for the HTC Desire with the Galaxy S.

As well as having an MP3 player, the Toshiba G450 has an alarm clock. This may seem silly, but as a mobile phone alarm clock is probably its most used PIM function, then it's reassuring that it is there. And it's worth mentioning because really, apart from MP3s and the alarm clock, the Toshiba G450 doesn't really do anything else. OK, you can make calls, send texts and manage your contacts list too.. but really you wouldn't want to try doing anything else on the G450's tiny screen.

Toshiba say that the maximum talktime on 3G is just 70 minutes, with up to 140 minutes talktime on GSM. Standby time is 7-8 days. The short talktime is due in part to the small 600 mAH battery. You can tell by this that the natural environment for the G450 is to be plugged into a laptop with a USB cable.

This is a very odd device. But we give credit to Toshiba for trying something different with the G450's design. Think of it as an alternative to a standalone USB cellular modem, and you might be close to figuring out the G450's target market.

Toshiba say that the G450 should be available from the first quarter of 2008 across Europe, in Black, Red and Silver colour combinations.

The Commtiva Sola is designed for just this market. As the name suggests, the Sola is a solar-powered mobile phone that manages to deliver a basic but practical feature set to customers.

Commtiva Sola The main selling point here is the solar panel on the back. Commtiva say that the Sola can provide 40 minutes of talktime and 39 hours of standby time on a two hour solar charge. with ZTE to produce the Coral 200 Solar handset, and Samsung recently showed off their Blue Earth device. But out of the three, the Commtiva Sola seems to strike the best balance between features and energy efficiency.

The Sola is a fairly basic but quite practical handset. It has a 1.8" 128

"Samsung Serenata-Music Mobile Phone"
Serenata is a music mobile phone focusing on sound quality and at the same time on bringing a more sophisticated lifestyle. To own Serenata is to enjoy the best possible music experience while you are on the move. Bang & Olufsen's expertise in concept development, user interface experience, acoustic sound capabilities and design skills together with Samsung's leadership in mobile phone technology, engineering and quality have realized a new way of combining unique music and mobile experiences for consumers. Featuring hi-fi speakers to deliver high quality sound reproduction and telephony, Serenata also provides a portable conference call feature, enabling multiple users to have a phone call.
The Serenata's 4GB of storage might be the least impressive thing about it, given the array of off-beat luxury features packed inside by Samsung's partner Bang & Olufsen.

There’s a new high-capacity media phone in town and it's… downright ridiculous. Samsung and Danish design firm Bang & Olufsen revealed their latest collaboration on Tuesday, the Serenata phone. Featuring B&O's trademark over-the-top design, 4GB of storage and a 2.26-inch LCD screen, the Sereneta might not quite be ready to oust Apple in the technical arena, but as a status symbol, it certainly stands a chance.
The Serenata distinguishes itself from similar devices in a number of ways. For one, it’s not all touch screen. A giant scroll wheel with a center selection button dominates the upper half of the unit. Everything the player does, from music selection to text messaging, can be controlled with the wheel or the integrated touch screen.
